EXIF Metadata Viewer
Inspect what information a photo contains before you share it.
Use the free EXIF Metadata Viewer
This tool runs locally in your browser. Your selected image is not uploaded to this website.
How the result works
EXIF metadata can include camera model, capture settings, date, orientation and sometimes GPS coordinates. This viewer reads available fields locally. Creating a clean copy re-encodes visible pixels and removes most embedded metadata, but you should verify sensitive workflows independently.
- Review location fields before public sharing
- Keep the original if capture information matters
- Use the cleaned copy for ordinary sharing
Common questions
What is EXIF metadata?
It is information embedded by cameras and editing software, such as capture time, camera model, exposure settings and possibly location.
Does viewing metadata upload my photo?
No. Metadata is parsed locally in your browser.
Does the clean-copy button remove every possible hidden field?
It re-encodes visible pixels into a new image, which removes standard EXIF metadata. Specialized file analysis may still be appropriate for highly sensitive use.
